PTC students returning to the Lex Walters Campus in Greenwood will find that an extreme makeover has taken place in the college library. Over the summer, library resources were moved, furniture was ordered, new computers were installed, staff offices were moved, walls were painted, artwork was hung, and services were restuctured to serve students more effectively.
Visitors will find that the "LIBRARY" sign has been removed from the main door and replaced with one that more accurately reflects what we do. The newly-formed facility, now known as the Information Commons, offers a central, "common" area of support for all types of coursework and study as well as for library and online research. The open computer lab and library are now within feet of each other, ready to serve the learning resources needs of students.
Visit us this semester, and let us know what you think!
What's going on in the college library is probably not the most pressing topic on your mind, but it would warm our little, librarian hearts if you dropped by now and then to learn about the latest resources and the greatest ideas about libraries, the Internet, and information in general. We promise not to shush you!

Is the book dead?
While library attendance remains steady at Piedmont Technical College, fewer of you are checking out books. So I pose the question to all PTC students and faculty... "How meaningful are books to you?"
